This is not a Cervelo P5
Guess what I was riding last night.
I'll give you a hint, I didn't get far.
So last night I managed to get on the bike, and I think I am glad I did. It may have been the worst exercise bike in the history of the world, but at least it was better than nothing. In fact, looking at my heart rate I actually got a pretty decent work out. However, I think that was more due to the sauna like conditions I was training in, rather than any particularly redeeming qualities of the exercise bike.
Between the terrible bike and the sweat box conditions it wasn't a particularly fun session. In fact I could only manage 65 minutes or so before my concern for my sanity forced me off the bike. Still an hour of riding is better than not an hour or riding.
Tonight the plan is to try and run again, however, as with everything I have done this trip, I am playing it by ear and planning on being fairly flexible if necessary. Now that I have got some training in I am being a little less precious about the whole thing. When I first got here I had these images of not getting any training done for a couple of weeks and that was stressing me out. I have now successfully avoided that. The situation I am in is still not ideal, but at least I have done some exercise this week. If I was to get no more before returning to Jakarata on Tuesday, then I could live with that.
I should point out though, that isn't the plan.
