I didn't really mention it yesterday, but I am in the middle of a recovery week this week. No scheduled exercise, which is always nice. It doesn't mean don't do any exercise, I just don't have anything that I HAVE to do.
As a result, I am not doing any exercise today (I didn't do any yesterday either). Part of that is the recovery week thing and part of it is that I am starting to feel a bit average. The family all started feel unwell over the weekend, and I suspect now that it is my turn. I would be interested to know whether I picked this up before the race last week at the same time my family did, or whether it is something I picked up in those disease tubes called planes. If I was starting to feel the early stages of what I feel now, then it might go someway to explaining the run on Sunday. Who knows, I felt fine at the time. On my way to not fine now though.
In other news, I was at the physio again yesterday. Really time to try and sort out this hip flexor. I have a long time until my next race (11 weeks) and between now and then I have a 2 week enforced training break while I go away for work. So I have a bit of time to get this sorted and that is really what I would like to do.
I am not sure, but my feeling is that it is more than just a case of rest until it doesn't hurt anymore. I have done that before and it started hurting again as soon as I started running. For me I think the issue is deeper than that. Still in terms or rehab, we have started down a road and I am not planning on preempting the destination. The physio has an approach in mind, which should sort it out, whether it is simply an injury, or whether there is a deeper underlying cause. So I am hopeful that following the process should get me there in the end.
I would really like this to work. I am sick of running with pain.
