Okay, so last night's post might have been slightly preemptive, seems I am not quite back into training yet today. But tomorrow I will be, for sure. According to my Garmin I am apparently 'detraining', which can't be a good thing. So I really should get on with things, but this morning I decided that one more morning wasn't going to make or break my coming races too much one way or another.
We are currently out of town on a short family holiday, which often provides great opportunities for training in the mornings. Not much time pressure, good conditions, sometimes these trips can be like mini training camps. Other times these trips can be great times to simply relax and spend time with my family. That is more or less what I have been doing this trip.
Given the way the past week has gone it has been pretty hard to pass up the opportunity to spend the mornings relaxing with my family. I actually have some paddling races coming up that I need to be training for, but the pressure of those races hasn't quite pushed me out the door yet, I might regret this in a couple of weeks time, but at the moment I am happy focusing on those things that are truly important in life.
Plenty of time for building fitness, starting tomorrow. For sure this time.
