So today some training did actually happen as planned. A bit of a paddle this morning and then a return to the gym this afternoon. The gym session in particular was a bit of a shock, being the first strength work I have done for a couple of weeks. I expect I will be feeling sore tomorrow.
It is good to be getting active again, today was a bit of a reminder of how much fitness ad form you can lose in a few weeks, but I know it will build back up on time, that is the nature of it. Also part of the challenge.
More training tomorrow, although this time it will be in the name of coaching. Tomorrow is the weekly Front Runner bike session and as usual it should be a good one. I don't think I will be keeping up with the folks in the squad, or riding particularly strongly for that matter, but it is a great chance to see everyone in action so I will be enjoying it no matter what. Should also be a pretty lovely morning for exercise, which helps too.
A bit of a tricky session on the bike tomorrow which will require a bit of thinking from everyone. Some variations in pace, duration and cadence means there is a lot going on, but it also means that the session ticks a lot of different boxes working on both intensity and also building strength.
Challenging for the members of the squad for sure, but no walk in the park for me either. This session would have to be one of the hardest to explain to people. I think I mess it up every time. Wish me luck.
