Another busy day today, a mixture of fun paddling, housework, catching up with friends and coaching preparation.
Most of today's activities were regular weekend type things, particularly the housework and the catching up with friends bits. The less normal activity for the day was around the coaching preparation work. Why did the weekend include some coaching preparation work?
Simple really, because this week I officially start working as a coach.
Front Runner Coaching
I have mentioned a few times that I was going to be starting work at Front Runner, but this week it becomes official. If you jump on the Front Runner website you can now officially book a coaching appointment with me.
Of course the actual coaching won't start until I have athletes to coach, but I am hoping that won't take too long. Even if it does take a few weeks I will still be down at Front Runners twice a week to do some shifts and spend time learning the ropes etc.
Now that it is actually happening I am quite excited to be starting at Front Runners. When I decided that I wanted to do this coaching thing properly Front Runner head coach Raf Baugh asked if I wanted to join the Front Runner team. Taking him up on the offer really seemed like a bit of a no-brainer.
By joining Front Runners I get to be a member of a great team that has well established systems that will give me a great start into the world of coaching. Front Runners also gives me the chance to work alongside and learn from a diverse range of experienced and highly knowledgeable coaches. I might be working for Front Runners but really I am getting a lot out of the deal.
This next step in my triathlon journey has been a long time coming. But now that it is hear I am really excited to see what it brings.
The future awaits.
