Me Time

A bit of a different day today.

So far this week has been fairly coaching intensive, with sessions on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Next week is looking similar, with SwimSmooth sessions on Wednesday and Friday. As a result I didn't head down to ride with the Break Your Limits Juniors this morning, instead choosing to do my own thing.

Besides is was very cold and windy today and so who wants to go riding in those conditions.

The own thing that I decided to do instead of riding was to go paddling on the standup paddle board. The week in Darwin was a week away from paddling and so I am currently enjoying the chance to be back on the board. So much so that I actually went out on the board twice today. Once in the morning for a long paddle while the wind was only strong and again in the afternoon once the wind had picked up properly.

The afternoon paddle in particular was a lot of fun, paddling downwind from A to B. Although I did misread the winds a little and as a result didn't manage to finish the paddle where I intended, instead having borrow a phone from a stranger to call my wife to ask her to pick me up from a different spot to where we had organised. Whoops. All good in the end though.

While I wasn't coaching today, the day wasn't entirely coaching free. This morning I spent a couple of hours down at Front Runner in Wembley getting run through the last few ins and outs about how the consultancy sessions work at the practice. My first official meetings with athletes are open this week and so today was about learning about the online systems, the booking systems etc. All things that are very foreign to me. Still, I think I have the basics of how the system works now, or at least enough to be dangerous. Once I get going with it and actually use it, I think I will be fine.

More of the same on the cards for tomorrow. Probably a bit of paddling and/or perhaps a bit of a jog. Besides that I think the plan is for a quiet day getting to know some of the online clinical systems used by Front Runners a bit better. Sounds peachy.
