Changes.

Some interesting developments today.

Yesterday I got the rather unwelcome news that the Falco has succumbed to its injuries from my last crash and as such I am now without a TT bike. Up until yesterday it had been a little uncertain, something was definitely out of alignment after my crash (the front wheel was rubbing on the frame) but the guys at Churchill were unsure whether it was the frame or the fork that was damaged. Our gut feel was that it was the fork, but we didn't know for sure. Neither the frame nor the fork had any visible damage, but something was definitely unhappy. Yesterday I managed to get hold of a straight fork to test on the bike and the wheel still rubbed, leading Churchill to conclude that the damage is in the frame. So that is that, frame is stuffed.

Now that is the downside.

Now for the Silver Lining, this means I get to sort out a new TT bike. I have had a sponsorship agreement with Falco since last year, but last I heard they were undergoing some internal restructuring and I think it might be easiest to look elsewhere for now. That is not to say the Falco has been a bad bike, I have quite enjoyed it, but right now I just need something simple that I can head down to the local bike store and get support for. So that is what I will look for.

Ultimately I would like to ride whatever bike a sponsor decides to give me, but once again that is not really the reality I live in. Not that I haven't tried, trust me, but the truth is that free bikes are hard to come by unless you are right at the pointy end of the race field. Discounted bikes are easier to locate and that is the space I currently inhabit. Churchill Cycles have always been super supportive of me and that is who I am talking to right now. Luckily they have lots of pretty bikes to look at.

So definitely a bit of sweet and sour at the moment. The written off bike is sour for sure, but I will admit I really love looking at new bikes, so having an excuse to do so is pretty sweet.

Watch this space.

Speaking of bikes, I was on one this morning. Well I was on most of one, the one I was on was lacking a back wheel because, of course, it was on the trainer. Still not all bad. Session went very well. I woke up feeling good and that continued through the session. Tired legs to start with, but they eventually got going and the power was good once they did. Notch up another satisfying session.

With no swimming in the morning my plan is to run tomorrow instead of tonight. I did that last week and it worked quite well and so I will do so again this week. It sucks not being able to swim, but that doesn't mean I won't take advantage of it to arrange the sessions to be as convenient as possible. Plus it means an evening with the family.

Wins all around.
