Some days you walk down the street, take a deep breath and feel that everything is at peace in your world. I am having one of those little zen moments today.
Some of the recent craziness at work has calmed down and so I have time to watch myself turn around again now. That extra time means everything else is just a little less rushed and hectic. It also means I am getting more sleep, which has strangely occurred at the same time as the world looking a lot rosier. Pure co-incidence obviously.
Training is going well too, despite my seeming complete inability to stay upright on two wheels, an addiction to injury and training consisting of exactly two activities, running and riding on the trainer. The upside is that both of those activities are going well. Late last year I hit a point where I was enjoying running. I was seeing gains, runs were enjoyable experiences, some even felt easy. I feel like I am getting back close to that point now, if yesterday's run is anything to go by. As for the Kickr, being stuck on there isn't an ideal arrangement, but there are lots up upsides. Riding on the trainer tends to improve pedaling smoothness, plus I have found it to be a great way to improve power output too. On top of all that I am making great progress working through my backlog of shows and movies to watch on Netflix. Plus, by the time I am ready to be on the road again, I will be really, really ready.
Yep, life is all choc fudge and daffodils at the moment, which is a nice way for it to be at the start of a training week.
Now I think it might be time for a coffee, because, well I like coffee.
