12 months

70.3 Subic Bay was on today. Looks like it was a hot tough day out there. Very similar to last year in fact.

Watching Subic Bay unfurl reminded me that I have now had my professional racing licence for around 12 months. I got my licence shortly before Subic Bay last year and the race was my last race as an age grouper. In fact, in many ways Subic Bay was the race that convinced me that I had made the right decision by taking my licence. In was my first top 10 finish and to this day is my best over all result, with a 6th place.

The last 12 months have been pretty amazing ones. There have been highs and lows, but now, 12 months in, I don't regret one moment of it (well okay I perhaps regret riding my bike after 70.3 Western Sydney), but I don't regret much else. 2015 may well be a year that I will remember for the rest of my life. The experiences I have had, the people I have met, the places I have been have all been amazing. All because I made the decision to give it a go, take my licence and see where it takes me.

I have long had a motto to not let the fear of something stop me from doing it and the last 12 months have been a manifestation of that.

I am pretty keen for the next 12 months to be just as good. Hopefully, beginning in a week or so, I can make a start on that.
