More steps in the right direction today I hope. For the first time in about a week my resting heart rate has returned to something like the right zone. For most of this week it has been sitting around 10 beats about normal, but today it was much closer than that. On top of that I have just generally been feeling better, less coughing, not tired etc, more like normal.
All that means that I will hopefully be out on the bike tomorrow. The plan isn't to do anything crazy, probably just a lap of the river loop I think, assuming the weather is clear (current forecast is uncertain on that front). If the weather does come in then I will be on the trainer instead. I will still be keeping a very close eye on my heart rate, but I am hopeful of a slightly better quality session that I have been able to manage.
Today I got to take full advantage of having a day off with a morning spent walking around. We went out as a family unit to walk our daughter to school and then spent the rest of the morning out walking. When I say rest of the morning I mean it, we left home at 8:10am and got home around 11:30. Sure there was a stop at a cafe in that, but most of it was spent pushing a pram around our neighbourhood. I haven't been feeling any ill effects yet either, so that is great.
So all signs are pointing up and hopefully that continues. I am really hopeful that the weather will play along tomorrow, I am dying to get back out on the road. Fingers crossed.
