Learning lessons

Another day of improvements today. I have definitely been coughing less today and feeling less foggy and tired. Breathing is still tight, but I am feeling 9/10ths human I would say.

Feeling good is all the more significant because I trained today. For the last few sessions, training has always put me on the back foot a little. After my trainer session on Monday morning I felt pretty average. Again on Wednesday morning after my walk on Tuesday night. Not today though. So far I would say I am feeling almost no ill effects from my session this morning.

I suspect that a large part of the success of this morning is because I took it very easy on the trainer. I realise in hindsight that the session I did on Monday was way to intense for how I was feeling. No such mistake this morning. This morning I chose my heart rate and stuck to it. It meant I was pushing the equivalent wattage to a warm summer breeze, but it means I have come out this side intact and feeling good. That has helped my mental outlook immensely.

It may have taken me an entire week of feeling run down to finally understand that I need to ease back, but I got there in the end. Better late than never.

Hopefully the improvements continue.
