Phi Phi

A very fun day today. Very early on in the planning process for this trip today was put aside for a visit to some of the islands off the coast of Phuket. There are a number of choices when it comes to amazing islands off the coast of Phuket, but for various reasons we decided to go with the Phi Phi Islands. The Phi Phis are a couple of islands about an hour from Phuket via a very fast boat. The claim to fame for the Phi Phi Islands is that it is where the film 'The Beach' was shot. Other than that though they are quite simply amazing. Soaring cliffs plunging down into crystal clear water. Some coral (and lots of damaged coral), abundant fish life and lots of fun.

A bit of this
And a bit of that
You get the idea
We had a real ball. The place is fairly packed with tourists, despite it being one of the 'quieter' sets of islands. It was so packed in fact that we weren't able to make it into one of the more impressive bays, which was a real disappointment at the time. Still the tour folk did their best to make it up and we still ended up having a great day of fun. A real highlight was introducing our daughter to snorkelling, which she took to like a duck to water. She spent much of the day on my back as we chased fish.

A very nice interlude to the world of Triathlon.
