Oh, so this is Winter

Following on from my ponderings from yesterday, I decided that the best way to do my training today was to jump on the trainer this morning. And boy am I glad that I did.

When I was thinking about it yesterday, it didn't even occur to me to check the weather for today, which is a bit silly really given that it is winter. If I had checked the forecast I would have seen that the weather today is for showers and storms this afternoon, potentially destructive winds as well apparently. Wide spread fun and games in other words. I am very glad that I hadn't planned to be riding home in that. I am of course planning on going running in that, but that isn't quite as bad.

The trainer session this morning was another solid one. Pretty typical trainer session type stuff, good burn in the legs, lots of sweat etc.

With the ride this morning having been done on the trainer, the plan will now be to do my Thursday ride on the road. Hopefully the weather comes to the party on that one, otherwise it might be another trainer session. Will have to wait and see, I think it is supposed to clear a little bit by then. Fingers crossed.

Perth winters have generally been getting drier over the last couple of decades. These days we tend to get extended periods of fine, but cold weather. We have just come through about a week of days like that. Minimums of around 3 or 4 degrees, and cool days full of glorious blue skies. With days like that, it is easy to forget that Winter is supposed to be wet, windy and miserable. Looking out the window at the moment, it looks like the weather is doing its best to remind us all.
