Getting on with it

After settling back into being at home yesterday, today was about getting back on with training. Getting back on with training took the form of a bike/run session this morning. It is the same session as I did this time last week, pretty short, but quite intense. Olympic distance training in preparation for Townsville, which is not about a month away. There was no PB on the run today, but it wasn't to shabby either. The bike was a bit more solid though, done on the trainer. All up, still a good session.

The rest of the day was spent doing family type stuff. This morning after training we headed out to the Swan Valley to have a second breakfast to celebrate my cousin's 40th. I only mention it because the place where we went served all vegetarian, mostly vegan, gluten free, mostly diary free food. I am not usually that bothered about food of that kind. My body thankfully tolerates pretty much any kind of food and so I take great pleasure in eating everything. However, I have to say, this stuff was really tasty. It really opened my eyes. Not enough to prompt any major lifestyle shifts, but enough to make me concede that food of this kind really can be very tasty.

Training kicks up a small notch this week, starting tomorrow. Training for the last month or so, since Busselton 70.3, has been a little speed focused, but mainly maintenance type work. Just a medium type training load. Next week the volume starts to creep up again, looking past the Olympic Distance in Townsville and starting to focus on Challenge Gold Coast. I have been a bit easy on myself during the last month, letting myself get away with more slackness that I usually would. Time for that to stop and for me to get back to it properly.
