Running this morning, and I am pleased to say it went a lot better than last week. The running felt better and as a result it was a lot quicker. Last week I said I wasn't that concerned about my bad run because I know it comes back pretty quickly. It is one thing to say that, but it is another for it to actually happen. So it is a big relief that running is feeling more normal again. Still a some way to go with running, but it had some way to go before Busselton, so now is not really all that different.
I was really supposed to be riding this morning, but like last Thursday, family logistics dictated that I had to run this morning instead. Not too many more days like this to go, so the training routine should return to normal shortly. Since I ran this morning I have a bit of a ride this afternoon. We shall see how that goes. The forecast is making some mention of isolated thunderstorms. I am not exactly sure an isolated thunderstorm is, but I would prefer to not be riding when I find out. I suspect the aforementioned storms may have already passed to the south, although I also wouldn't put any money on that.
It is funny, I am almost hoping for rain since it would give me an excuse to try out the Kickr. However, I am also a bit apprehensive about trying it, since I suspect once I do it will burst my bubble and make me realise that it is still a trainer and as such, just a little dull. Oh well, no matter what happens tonight I will be trying the Kickr out Thursday morning, since that ride has been identified as a trainer session.
This morning I tried something new. For once I actually remembered about the TA Priority entry period for a race and managed to get my entry in. The race in question was the Mandurah 70.3. With that entry done, the rest of my year is sorted race wise, which is a nice feeling. Other new things I have tried recently is not waiting until the very last minute to organise flights and accommodation for a trip. Usually I put it off and put it off and then get very stressed and end up having to take whatever is still available. However, yesterday I booked all my travel and accommodation for my trip to Townsville. All sorted. I was very proud of myself.
I just have to sort out Phuket and the Gold Coast and then I am all done.
Time to go and stare at a rain radar.
