Not Training Day

As indicated yesterday, today was a bit of a quiet day, more of a family day and less of a training day. Still a lovely day though. Sort of day where it was nice to just be out and about, which we certainly did, and we weren't alone. It seems that what a lot of mothers wanted for Mother's Day was to go on a family ride, since that is what we saw by the handful. Given the number of fathers out having a kick with their sons in the park across the road from us, it seems that the other thing on the wish list for some mother's was for everyone else to simply be elsewhere.

Training starts up again tomorrow. A bit of an ease back into routine with a simple spin on the program. The weather is at that point where I think I will probably be okay on the bike tomorrow, but there is no guarantee. Oh well, I am going to have to accept that 'Winter is Coming' (sorry I just started watching Game of Thrones) and with that comes certain realities when it comes to training. One of those realities is that you don't always get through a ride dry. At least being Perth you can usually avoid getting absolutely saturated on a ride, but a bit of a drizzle now and then is hard to avoid. I still plan on trying to avoid it tomorrow, but if I can't, then I will put on some appropriate clothing and get on with it. As I mentioned the other day I am working on getting a decent wind trainer sorted, but that particular ship hasn't come in yet (it is close), so until it does I am at the mercy of the weather a little bit.

Oh well, fingers crossed for tomorrow.
