Riding again today. If anything I pulled up a little bit sorer than I did yesterday, but I think mostly that is because I went a little bit harder chasing a couple of people down that I didn't really need to. The back wasn't exactly sore afterwards, but a little bit more tender.
I have since been to the physio though and it is feeling okay now. The news from the physio is good. There is still a fair bit of stiffness in my spine, but the muscle inflammation in my back seems to be pretty much gone. So that is a big step forward, and would explain a bit of why my back hasn't been as sore as it was. Hopefully the improvements continue.
Swimming on the program tomorrow morning which could be a bit of a shock to the system. I haven't swum for a couple of weeks and I have to say I am not looking forward to the first swim back. I suspect that it will not be pleasant. Still I will try and take it a bit easier. No point killing myself by trying to go too hard, too quickly, that bit comes later, for now I am just trying to get back into the swing of training. At least my back shouldn't feel any worse afterwards. If anything I suspect it will feel a bit better.
As I mentioned yesterday, then session I am waiting for most this week is the run/walk on Thursday. At the moment I am still not confident that running wouldn't make my back worse, but I think it is getting pretty close to being okay. Fingers crossed for Thursday.
Getting back out training again and it is obvious that the seasons are on the change. We are still having a bit of warmer weather, but the mornings certainly haven't more chill to them than they have. The arm warmers are starting to look pretty good. Sunrise has definitely shifted later as well, starting the ride in the dark is the norm now. Still that is the way of these things. To be honest I am happy to have some cooler weather again. I am not looking forward to the wet cold weather, but for now, cooler is nice.
