Bit of a change this morning, usually I would be swimming on Friday morning but circumstances have required a bit of rearranging this week. What circumstances you ask (if you are in the habit of asking questions to a computer screen)? Well today is my wife's birthday. If any one day of the calendar justified moving training in order to keep an afternoon free, it is the birthday of your spouse. After all, as coach Daryl always says, family comes first.
As a result of this I was out on the bike this morning for quite a pleasant little ride. Often when I am out running in the morning I think, 'this would be a lovely morning for riding'. Well this morning I managed to be riding for one of those which was nice. I should still be able to get my swim session in, but I will probably try and do it tomorrow afternoon.
Even if I missed the swim session all together it would hardly be a big deal. My family puts up with a lot and and makes a lot of sacrifices for me to do this sport, so it is not as if missing a single swim for their benefit is a hardship. One thing I have found while training for triathlons is that it wouldn't be possible without the support of my family. Not just the support they give by putting up with me, but the support they give by believing in me as well. Without them there would be no triathlon, simple as that.
So Happy Birthday Beautiful.
