As predicted this morning wasn't a lot of fun. By the time I had my blood tests done and managed to get hold of some food it was nearly 1:00pm. I am sure I must have been about to fade away. On the upside, my medical has revealed that I am healthy and apparently reasonably fit. Good to know.
This morning I was out on the bike for a bit of a recovery spin. I was planning on heading out on the training bike and giving the new saddle a try out. However, circumstances meant that I was able to take out the TT bike, so I jumped on the P5 instead. Given the weather we have been having (ie searingly hot), this morning was quite pleasant on the bike. Not too hot and surprisingly not that windy. The ride went well too, legs were feeling pretty okay after yesterday's run.
Given that I was fasting for my blood tests I headed out without breakfast, which is not something I do regularly. Being such a short ride it wasn't really a problem. I would have been reluctant to do so if the ride was longer, but I knew for this one I would be fine. Which it was. Still when I got home I kept instinctively reaching for some fruit. I managed to catch myself each time though.
Back to running in the morning, with a bit of sand and intervalness to fill the session. It is supposed to be another scorching hot day tomorrow, but at least I will be at the beach. If I have to be out running anywhere then the beach is probably the place to be doing it. Hopefully the temperature drops enough over night to make the morning pleasant. I don't need a repeat exposure to naked, overheating backpackers. If it is still warm in the morning, at least I will be near the ocean.
