High fived a naked guy. I can honestly say that that is something I never thought I would be saying. I can also honestly say that I hope it is something I don't have cause to say again. Why did I high five a naked guy? Well, when a naked stranger on the street asks for a high five, I think it is probably best to do what the guy asks and then keep running, don't you?
It has been a hot night in Perth, we managed to reach a minimum of 30.2 degrees at about 5:00am. These guys had been sleeping in their cars along the river, and I guess with the heat they had decided to give up on sleep and embrace public nudity instead. There was three in all, two guys and a girl and they at least looked like they were having fun. I did wonder why they were standing around naked in a car park when they were literally a stones throw away from the river, or a short drive away from the ocean. But sometimes I think it is best to not question the motives of naked strangers in car parks.
Anyway, that was an interesting end to the run.
The rest of the run was okay as well. Settling into my new Mizunos I think. Last time I went for a run in the Inspires I chucked my orthotics into them out of habit. They are meant to be a supportive shoe, but I have used my orthotics in supportive shoes before. Anyway during that run I felt like the orthotic wasn't letting me pronate enough. It felt like I was toeing off over my toes, rather than over my big toe. I could get myself to pronate properly if I thought about it, but I was having to force it which isn't right. This morning I ran without the orthotic which is something I haven't done for a while. It felt okay I think. I will try it some more and see. This is quite new territory for me post stress fracture. The stress fracture was a while ago, but I am still very cautious about it. Baby steps at the moment.
Anyway I have to head to the airport in half an hour. Better start packing.
