This week is a much easier week than last week. It isn't what I would call a taper week, but it is along those lines. As a result I had a pretty easy run this morning. The only problem with that was that it involved running.
Probably fair to say that I was a little worried with how the run this morning was going to go. I still feel like I have a fair bit of leg tiredness from the weekend, a bit of soreness as well. The consolation for all that was that it was an easy run, which could, if necessary, be an easy shuffle. Turns out though that once I got going, everything felt surprisingly good. Not to tired or sore, once I was warmed up everything certainly seemed to work they way it was supposed to.
On top of still feeling a bit tired from the run on Sunday, I am also feeling a bit tired from a lack of sleep last night. This is mostly due to my son currently teething and so suddenly developing some kind of sleep allergy. I know I definitely got some sleep last night, it just wasn't a very consistent effort.
As a result of all that, my ride tonight is going to stick very closely to the program which states 'Easy Recovery'. It certainly doesn't say, 'Ride crazy hard for a little while' which is what some of these rides become if I am not careful.
Tomorrow the easier week continues with swimming in the morning and then the afternoon off. Certainly nothing easy about the swimming in the morning bit, but the afternoon off will be welcome. After tomorrow the 2nd half of the week becomes a little bit more serious. But I think by then I should be feeling a bit fresher.
Fingers crossed for some sleep tonight.
