Heating up

Swimming this morning took a turn for the rapid. Guy Crawford and Kate Bevilaqua have returned to Australia for the Summer and they had their first session back with Swim Smooth this morning. Guy is a machine in the water and so our lane took a rather significant step in the direction of faster. Too fast for me truth me told, but it was fun to try for a while.

Having survived my swim this morning I am now done for the day training wise, which is a very nice way to be. I am looking forward to my afternoon off. Just have to get through the pesky business of being at work all day first.

The ride last night ended up being not so bad, once I got going I felt pretty good. I will admit there was probably less 'easy recovery' and a bit more 'ride crazy hard for a little while' than I had orginally intended. But sometimes when you are feeling good it is very hard to resist the urge to ride fast and enjoy the speed. Particularly with a tail wind.

The weather has certainly turned a corner here now, with 30 degree days happening a bit more regularly. Still not so hot that training is unpleasant in the mornings and the afternoons, currently most sessions are in that nice pleasant temperature zone, not cold, not hot. However, you can tell that the warmer weather is certainly on the way.

Oh well, I better get on with getting through my day of being at work.
