Fast Running Day

A fairly big day of running today with a return to doing long intervals in the morning and short intervals in the afternoon. The long interval session this morning went pretty well. This session is continuing to get better as I am getting more used to it. It doesn't get any easier, just quicker, but that is the way with a lot of training. Today there was a slight improvement in speed over the last time I did the session, which was slightly quicker than the time before that, so that is all moving in the right direction. Tough session, but satisfying. I pulled up a little sore after the session this time around, so I will have to keep an eye on that.


This afternoon it is time for short intervals. I often do this session at lunch time, but today I decided to do something different and I will do it once I get home. No good reason for doing it this way, just when I had finished my run this morning, leaving the second run until this afternoon felt like good idea. So that is what I have decided to do. I will play this second run by ear a little bit. If I am still sore once I get going I may reconsider the session a little bit. We will see.

Down to the pool in the morning. I am hoping tomorrow's session goes a bit better than last Wednesday's session. It can't go much worse. Still there is only one way to get better, and sitting at home worrying isn't it.
