I spoke too soon

Well yesterday I was pretty sure I was speaking too soon as I spoke about the glorious weather we were having, and today really proved me right. The weather today has been absolutely horrible, wet, very, very windy, cold. Pretty much the whole shooting match. I had a reasonably long cross country run this morning which was okay. Not that pleasant, but not that bad, at least it could have been much worse, I could have been riding.
The weather during the run was far from not nice, the wind was howling and I got rained on several times, but it doesn't seem to matter quite so much when you are running. Still running home into the head wind was not all that much fun. The wind was strong enough that a couple of times when I ran into the lee of something and was suddenly out of the wind, I almost fell over. A couple of times I thought twice about running under some trees, it really looked like a couple of them were going to shed branches at any moment.

For this cross country run I chose the course that I used just before Bintan. A bit of time on the beach along the river, a bit of time over some trails and a bit of time over some grassy ovals. Like last time it worked pretty well, although this time there was a quite a bit less beach and some of the ovals were more like lakes. Still I got through it all. Was nice to get home though.

Tomorrow I am back out on the bike and I will be interested to see what the weather is doing. I am not sure that the forecast is predicting an improvement. Hopefully it is wrong. I think it might be raining slightly less, but I am not sure whether the wind is due to go away. Fingers crossed.
