No Stack Tuesday

Today was an example of the rarest of beasts, a Tuesday that did not involve a face first trip into the ground. Celebrations all round.

On the training front, it was back into regular programming after my rest day yesterday. Having had a day off combined with a bit of a battle with fatigue for the last week or so made this morning was more of a mental battle to get myself back into it more than anything. But back into I got. To quote a certain ex president of the US, Mission Accomplished.

It was my normal cross country, hill, interval run this morning, which took a little bit of getting into. I still felt pretty tired when I got up, but once I got moving I felt better and better. In the end the run went pretty well. And involved no stacks. Overall I was quite happy with it.

The afternoon session was intervals as usual. Normally I would do them on my lunch break, but a busy day made it necessary to do them later in the day once I had got home. A slightly different schedule, but it worked quite well, and I think the different course and time made for a nice change from the norm. Change being as good as a holiday and all that.

Tomorrow morning it is down the pool for another bout of distance swimming with Swim Smooth. I am actually kind of looking forward to it.

On a completely different note, congratulations to Glen and Kylie from Daryl's Squad up in Darwin who just welcomed their daughter Heidi into the world. Very exciting news, although I despair a little for her future given that both parents are Ironpeople and therefore clearly insane.
