Oh, no, not for that reason. Valentines Day doesn't really feature in this household. Something about us being anti manufactured celebratory events. It has always worked out well for me, not having to buy flowers etc. Besides I don't really need an excuse to buy flowers for the pretty one.
No, today is a special day in our house because it is our son's birthday. He who is known locally as the Nugget. A nickname based on both his physique and communication style. He is three today and so today has been a bit of a fun day. It has mostly been spent playing with, watching and generally living and breathing the Octonauts, which happens to be his favourite TV show right now. In fact it could well be his favourite thing full stop right now, inclusive of parents. But I can't really blame him for that. It is a pretty good show.
Days like today are good ones for reminding you that life is a pretty sweet deal and that there are things in it much more important than work, or racing, or being injured, or even getting better.
It is good to have days like this one now and then.
