A bit of a brief post today after the type fest of the last three days. I don't have much to add, plus my fingers are sore.
Hopefully some people find the three posts about sponsorship useful or at least interesting. They are posts that I have been debating writing for a while. In many ways the posts feel like they are looking at one of the 'dirtier' sides of sport. The bit that is less about sporting endeavour and more about selling a product. The place where you can put a value on most things. I thought about not writing the posts because I didn't necessarily want people thinking I was glorifying that side of things, or that I was selling the message of 'this is why we do this'. We do this sport for money. None of which is true obviously.
On the flip side, sponsorship is a subject that lots of people seem interested in and not many people talk about. In fact the whole subject of sponsorship seems be thought of as a bit of a black art. So whilst it may not be the most appealing side of sport, it is a side. And a side that people want to know about. I started this blog for a number of reasons, one of those reasons is to provide people with information which they might be struggling to find elsewhere (hence why my race reports are so long). That is why I decided to write those last three posts.
Anyway, another quiet day today. I went for a walk this morning, but that was mainly to take some photos rather than for exercise. I am now most of the way through my 10 days post op exercise freeze. I am back to the Doctor on Wednesday and I should have a better idea of what is going on then. I am hopeful that by then my wound will have healed properly and I might be able to do a little training. I say this because my shoulder is feeling the best it has done for 5 weeks or so. Not pain free, it won't be that until the plate is out, but certainly pain reduced. Certainly pain reduced enough to get back on the trainer. If it wasn't for the strict instructions around not sweating I would have been back on the trainer today. Hopefully after Wednesday I can do so. By Wednesday it will only be two weeks until the plate comes back out, but a two week head start on regaining fitness is better than nothing.
