Another good session on the trainer this morning, although if I am honest it wasn't as good as the last one. Just a little fatigued at the moment I think. Not all that surprising given that it is Thursday. In the end the session was very similar in execution to the one I did on Tuesday, but it just cost me another 10bpm to do it.
One really good thing about the last two sessions I have had on the trainer is that it has allowed me to watch Rocky and Rocky II. Believe it or not up until Tuesday the only Rocky movie I had seen was Rocky Balboa (the most recent) and I am not sure that counts. I know for some people not having seen the Rocky movies is like saying I have never seen Star Wars (which I have of course), but for me they are movies that I had never quite got around too watching. Well all that has changed now with one and two successfully viewed. Pretty good too. I can see why the original Rocky won an Oscar. I have now officially seen half of the Rocky movies, however, I am not sure I will continue the habit, I gather they go down hill fairly rapidly after Rocky II. I might have to switch to Rambo instead. And no I haven't seen those either.
This afternoon I am supposed to be running, but I suspect instead I will be listening to my body. When you train a lot there is a fine line between tired and worn out. What I have been feeling most of today is worn out. I haven't been getting quite as much sleep as I should have been all this week. I just seem to keep waking up early and once I am awake I can't get back to sleep. Doesn't seem like much but it has been costing me 30 minutes or so a night and I think that and the cumulative fatigue have caught me today. The plan is to get a good night's sleep tonight and go for a run in the morning. Depending on how I am feeling I can then get a solo swim in on Friday afternoon, which wouldn't be a terrible thing to do anyway. I might even jump in the river and spend some time in the wet-suit to do it. See how the motivation takes me.
Before all that though, first priority is some sleep I think.
