The first package was this.
This is my first shipment of stuff from Hammer Nutrition. Whilst I have been using Hammer products for a while, this package includes a number of firsts for me. I haven't tried the Recoverite before and I have been keen to try the Caffe Latte Perpetuem for ages. So those are both products that I will be excitedly opening soon. Plus the drink bottle I usually have at my desk just split down the side showering me with water. So a couple of new drink bottles are always handy.
The other item that came by mail is possibly a little bit more exciting. Well it is to me anyway. It is this:
This is my Professional License. I have known that this was on its way for a while and I guess on some level the whole pro license thing hasn't felt real until this arrived. Holding this in my hand last night was a very satisfying moment.
On matters unrelated to Australia Post. Some good training this morning. I had another run session this morning and it was a very satisfying build on Tuesday's run. It was quite windy and I had my reservations about having to work at pace into the wind, but in the end it all went fine. The session was very similar to Tuesday's session in content, but given how well Tuesday's run went, I approached today's with a bit more aggression. I still tried to pace it smartly with the intent of finishing strong, it was just that the run on Tuesday gave me a better feel of what pacing was appropriate. All up very happy with how running is feeling at the moment and how the body is reacting to it. Running has felt like it has been on a plateau for a while now, and a slow one at that, it is great to be having some improvements again.
On the bike tonight and I at the moment I am keenly watching a lump on rain on the Bureau of Meteorology radar to see what it is going to do. They are forecasting 'possible thunderstorms' for this afternoon which in Perth usually means sunny and dry, but today it looks like they could have been on to something. I have the new Cervelo S5 all set up for the ride. I am itching to get it back out after the chain snapping incident this time last week, so I would really be quite annoyed if it ended up being a wet one. I am hopeful that the rain will pass to the east of me. Fingers crossed.
