Not all lazy days with scones and cream though, I will be doing some training today with a ride on the books for this afternoon. I often do these sorts of rides in the morning, but the program officially has it as an afternoon session, and this way I got to stay in bed this morning. Win-win really. The weather is not supposed to be horrible this afternoon, so that is a bonus. 'Light winds forecast' he says with barely contained anticipation. Who knows what winds will actually show up, you can rest assured though that if heavy winds turn up I will be greatly displeased.
After my weekend full of curious illness adventures I am feeling fine again and am looking forward to getting on with training this afternoon. Hopefully I am still feeling fine once the exertion begins. Speaking of curious illness adventures, we are now hearing more stories of friends and acquaintances who are falling victim to similar malaises, so there is certainly something unpleasant doing the rounds. We are sort of hoping that we aren't the source of all the woe though. Hopefully not.
In fact I just Googled it and came up with this:
Virus Watch
from the Western Australian Government. Who knew that this was even a thing (the Virus Watch, not the Western Australian Government, they may have issues but I pretty sure existence isn't one of them).
"Presentations to sentinel GPs remain elevated and above levels observed at this time in recent years. Gastroenteritis presentations to sentinel EDs increased this week and exceed baseline level."
