So...
Yesterday I mentioned that I had big news and I do. Are you sitting down? The big news is this:
I have had my Professional Racing Application approved by Triathlon Australia.
Yeah, I know. A Pro. Who would have thought it. Certainly not me when I trundled around the Nightcliff foreshore on my first training tri back in 2011.
I know I have been sitting down all weekend just to take it in.
I applied last Monday (was it only a week ago???) and I heard from Tri Australia on Friday. Just one week for my world to change.
I took the weekend to just take it all in. I still haven't succeeded at that by the way. I will let you know if I manage to.
So, racing as a professional, it raises a lot of questions. To that end I thought I would try and dedicate the posts during the rest of the week to the topic. The process of becoming a pro is a bit of a black box and I could be wrong, but I think a lot of people might be interested in it. I have certainly found it quite interesting, there is a lot more to it than I thought. I might also touch on some of the why, since I suspect that it also a mystery to a lot of people.
That can all be later in the week though. For now I will leave it with this.
For 2015 I am going to race as a Pro.
