Wow, exhausted today. What an epic effort. I have had some solid days in the past, but I think most of them pale into the background compared to today.
Who knew that a five year old's Birthday Party could be so exhausting?
And just how does a group of 8 five year olds create that much mess in just 2 hours?
Oh yeah, I went for a ride this morning as well.
Today's party was the first children's birthday party that we have had in this household, and on the whole I think it went pretty well. Hard work though.
Riding this morning was not so much hard work though, just a lot of fun. Given that I don't have any particular program at the moment I took the opportunity to head out and ride with the guys from Break Your Limits. I am often doing very specific things when I go riding on Saturday morning, which makes riding with other people hard. So this morning I really enjoyed the chance to go out and have a spin with some of the guys.
It was only a few of the guys though. The Perth City to Surf is on tomorrow, so lots of people are resting. Plus, you know, it was raining fairly solidly. I very nearly didn't go out myself, I was thinking quite heavily that without a program I didn't need to force myself out the door into the rain. But perhaps it is a sign of just how much I felt like going riding that I headed out anyway. I am glad I did. I would like to say that once I was out it dried out and became lovely, but it didn't really. We got rained on lots and the roads were wet the whole way and for some of it there was a solid head wind. But I just enjoyed being out and having a spin with some good people.
Not sure what I will do tomorrow. I was actually thinking of taking the chance to go for a surf which is something I haven't done for a few years (my reasoning is that it is kind of like swim training). But the swell and winds are not in my favour so I will give that a miss. I might try and head out on the bike again, although after this morning the bike could really really do with a wash. See what sort of conditions the morning brings.
