Here we are, back from holiday and back into it.
Back into training.
Back into work.
Back into coaching.
Just a quick post tonight as it is nearly time for bed, but now that I am back from holiday things are starting to look a bit more normal. The holiday was great and a whole lot of fun, but as is often the case at the end of a break, it is nice to be home and returning to 'normal life' a little. I am really looking forward to getting back into things.
On that front I have been getting in some training over the past few days, and while the exercise is a bit of a shock to the system after two weeks off, it is great to be back into training and rebuilding the lost fitness. I always enjoy the rebuilding bit, where progress is so easy to see. With the stand up paddling national championships 13 weeks away, this next few months is going to be a bunch of focused training and I am really looking forward to it. Can't wait.
On the coaching side things never really stopped, however, what is re-starting is face to face coaching of sessions. The squad training has been on a break since after Busso 70.3 in May, but starting tomorrow we will be back into action with our weekly bike sessions. It is still going to be cold and dark tomorrow, but getting out and spending time with the squad is always a really good way to gauge how everyone is going, plus a good chance for a chat, catch up and generally get to know everyone. A really important part of the building the squad. Plus it will be nice to be back out on the bike after a couple of months of not riding much. I hope I remember how.
Yep, things are starting to look a bit more like normal and I couldn't be happier.
