The Plan

Time for a long weekend here in Perth. Finishing the week on a Friday heading into three days off is quite a nice feeling.

I am hoping that this long weekend will be a great chance to get back into some training following on from my work travel earlier in the week. I did a bit of exercise this morning which was a good start, but the next three days will hopefully give me a chance to get in some decent miles after 4 days of inactivity at the start of the week.

I got in a kind of threshold session today and the plan for Sunday is similar, so hopefully tomorrow I will be getting in a nice long steady training session to put some miles in, spend some time building some kind of base after the inconsistent training of the past week. As I mentioned yesterday, I have another trip coming up in a week or so, but it doesn't mean I can't do some good training between now and then.

The other plan for this weekend will obviously be program writing. As is normal for a weekend I have a few athlete appointments tomorrow and some programs to update. Nothing to onerous, but something to work through steadily tomorrow and Sunday.

Really though I am looking forward to a really relaxing weekend. Last weekend was a bit manic with a family trip to Guilderton and then a work trip away, so this weekend it will be great to just relax at home for a bit. Everyone in the family unit could certainly do with the down time so I think we are just to hang out and home and take it easy.

If I am honest it sounds really, really good.
