A pretty good old day today, one of those days where I am crawling into bed satisfied. Catch ups with a number of athletes, a good bit of exercise, some satisfying work around the house. What more can you ask for?
With any luck tomorrow will be as satisfying. Tomorrow is program writing time. A bit of exercise in the morning, but the bulk of the day will be about writing programs. I have some new athletes, some athletes on taper and some athletes just building. Pretty much a bit of everything tomorrow. The program writing is made more efficient when you can use common elements between athletes (which I do), but at the same time I do like being able to cater a program to the needs of my athletes, fitting it around their requirements, or training phase, or timetable etc. It makes the process a bit slower than producing cookie cutter programs for sure, but I feel it is the right way to go about coaching for me. It I am honest I wouldn't want to do it any other way.
These heavy program writing days can be a bit of a slog, but it is part of the job and is also pretty satisfying once you get through it. If I can also get a bit of time to finish off a few tasks around the house then I think I will note that one down as a success.
Should be a pretty busy day. Hopefully it is as good as today.
