Holiday Mode

Pretty close to achieving full holiday mode I think. I have now been off work for 3 days and I think I am nearly in the routine of it, which is good because I have another 5 days to go. Getting more used to not having a routine and taking things as they come, which is nice because in the normal working week I don't really get to do that. Still got some boxes that need ticking off in the next few days, but I am enjoying being able to do those things at my own pace.

A bit of a quieter day on both the exercise and the coaching front today. Coaching is pretty much all on hold for a week or two, so that is a welcome break. I am catching up with some athletes over the weekend, and as always I will have some programs to write, but all the session I usually coach are on break until the new year. I am looking forward to getting on with those sessions, but also happy to have a couple of weeks away to recharge the batteries.

On the exercise front I gave myself a bit of a lighter day today. I feel like I am starting to get back into the routine of training after a few quite weeks in mid-December, but at the same time I felt like I could do with a quieter day after burying myself yesterday. There is a good chance that tomorrow is going to be another exercise heavy day, so having the quieter one in between has been a good chance to do some recovery. So far my planned week of exercise is going along nicely and I would like to continue it through the weekend, which means recovering properly is just as important as the actual exercise bit.

With that I am off to play board games in bed, all in the name of proper recovery of course. As I mentioned, I am well on my way to full holiday mode.
