Down Time

A much anticipated weekend of downtime coming my way. From tomorrow the family unit are heading down the road for a short camping trip. The trip will be distinctly technology free and so as such this will be last blog for a few days. I will be up and blogging again on Monday though so not to worry.

To say I am really looking forward to this trip would be a mild understatement. Usually we avoid going camping during school holidays as some of the campsites can be a bit insane, however, this weekend we have decided it is worth the risk. We are hoping that fact that this weekend is the Australian Football League's Grand Final may mean that the campsites are a bit quieter. Even if it wasn't Grand Final weekend I think we would go anyway as we are at that point where we need the break.

The last few months have been fairly flat out in our household, between normal work, coaching, school, rehearsals etc it has felt like we haven't had a moment to breath some weeks. Given that, this break has come just at the right time. No technology, no demands on time, no plans for exercise, simply being out and about with the family and relaxing. Sounds perfect.

Between now and then I just have a spot of packing to do and then assisting Paul with the coaching down at Swim Smooth tomorrow. As always I am really looking forward to the Swim Smooth coaching. The Friday CSS session down at Swim Smooth is always a testing one in the pool and a challenging one on the pool deck, typically with lots of people doing lots of different things at the same time making the session a bit of a juggling act. Always exciting though and always lots of fun, which is why it is one of my favourite sessions of the week.

All up it should hopefully be a great few days.

See you on the other side.
