Holiday Mode

Holiday mode continued today with a bit of exercise, a bit of running around and a bit of relaxing. I even had a nap.

Oh yeah and a bit of tour watching.

As expected the stage last night didn't deliver huge fire works in terms of massive upsets, however, the attacks were often enough and big enough to make the final 4km very exciting and signal that this could be one very interesting tour indeed. Most Aussie fingers are crossed that Porte can go one step further as the tour progresses and put some hurt on during the longer climbs, but even if Porte can't, Aru certainly indicated that the tour won't necessarily be a cake walk for Froome and the Sky juggernaut either. It will be a few days until we will get our next view of the mountains, and we get our next indication of the GC contenders form, however, for now it is looking like we could be in for an exciting ride, which is something it sorely needs.

For me the exercise side of things was another swim down with Daryl's squad at Nightcliff Pool. I was concerned how swimming would go today, following up from the swim on Tuesday. Normally two swims in one week would hardly be a cause for concern, but at the moment my swim fitness is not great, and so I really wasn't sure how I would pull up from the Tuesday swim. Turns out I pulled up fine though and was able to get through the swim today with no great problems. A nice solid session all the same, but it didn't blow me out of the water which was nice. As with Tuesday, the swim today was another great chance to catch up with folks for a bit of a chat which was possibly more of a highlight than the swimming itself.

I have a rather nice photo of myself and my wife post swim from Robyn Stanley, however, threats to my well being from my wife prevent me from putting it online. You will just have to imagine it instead.

Besides the tour and swimming, today has been a relaxing day of wandering around Darwin and catching up with friends. Always fun things to do.

Tomorrow the plan is to get out on the bike again, before heading out to one of the local waterholes with the kids for some proper Northern Territorian adventures. Should be another fun filled day. There might be a bit more tour thrown in there too.
