Flashback Friday

Phew, well that was more than I had planned.

This is a brief summary of this morning's ride.

It has to be said that 123km and 1422m of climbing wasn't quite what I had planned for when I set out this morning.

Still, the ride was what it was and given that, it went pretty alright. I made it through, and from what I felt the heart didn't give me any trouble. It got a bit more of a squeeze than it was anticipating, but it (and I) survived.

Despite being longer than planned it was nice to be out in the hills on a long ride again. It gave me a bit of a bit of a flashback to the days before my heart was giving me trouble. Leading into Ironman WA I spent countless long rides rolling through the hills of Perth. Today took me back to those days a little bit, even just for a short while.

Nice way to spend a Good Friday morning too.

Tomorrow the plan is for a bit more riding, but not out to the hills this time. Tomorrow I am going to ride with the juniors, as I have done for the past few weeks, but they will be heading out to Shelley for interval laps rather than up the hills. Probably a good thing they aren't heading to the hills, I am not sure I have another trip into the hills in me at this stage.
