Good news and Bad news

A day of pluses and minuses today. Swings and roundabouts as they say.

I am still out on my metal island in the middle of the sea. Today is my last full day here, tomorrow we start the long trek home. It has been a fun visit, but home will be nice.

The major minus of the day is the news that due to unavoidable circumstances I will be flying to Darwin tomorrow, but no further. The flight to Perth will have to wait until Friday. So that will mean getting home 12 hours or so later than planned. The downside to that is fairly obvious, mainly being that it will be just that little bit longer until I see my family. At least it isn't too much longer.

The cloud is not entirely without silver lining though. Having another night in Darwin means another chance to catch up with Mum and Dad. It also means I might have time to do a bit of training on Thursday morning if the mood so takes me, which I am thinking it might. Another upside is that it will mean two shorter days of travel, rather than one really epically long day of travel, which isn't a bad thing either.

As I said yesterday, I still haven't managed to get any training done out here. Yesterday I was just as shattered as on Monday and it simply wasn't on my radar. I am feeling a bit more positive about today though. Today has been a generally easier day and will probably finish up a bit earlier. At the moment I feeling like a trip to the gym and perhaps a bit of time on a treadmill could be in order. We shall see, but I am feeling positive.

Not much else to report though really. Still eating more than I probably should, but at the same time trying to keep it healthy (relatively). My nutrition plan will be happy once I am away from there though.

Very much looking forward to getting home and getting on with it.
