Wrong Call

One of those sessions today. The one where you make the wrong call.

The forecast this morning was for likely rain. The radar confirmed it, there was definitely rain on the way, just a matter of time. About 30 minutes away by my estimate, just enough time that I would get wet once I headed out. Based on that estimate I made the call to jump on the Kickr. I had a few hours on the bike to do and whilst a few hours on the Kickr isn't my favourite activity I am more keen for that than going for a ride in the rain.

Decision made I got on with, jumping on the bike and waiting for the imminent rain to justify my decision, and waiting, and waiting. Until three hours later and I was done with my ride and the ground was still dry. Doh.

Still not entirely disappointed with my decision. The session was actually really good. The three hours went by surprisingly easily, although the last hour was a bit of a challenge. For a three hour ride the power, heart rate etc was really good. Very happy with the outcome. Still just a little it frustrating.

Other than a mind numbing amount of time on the Kickr the other activity today was heading up to Guilderton, which is where I am sitting typing this. That part of the day has gone really well. The weather has been a bit damp, but the family has still had a lot of fun nonetheless. Good times with friends and kids.

Hopefully more of the same tomorrow, plus a bit of training. Tomorrow the plan is to head out for a bit of a jog and hopefully a bit of a swim in the river if the weather clears up.

Good times.
