Well it turns out that I wasn't able to find a flat bit of road in Guilderton. I thought I knew where I could find some, I had a good look, but nothing. Running on hills it was.
Still the running on hills went well this morning, despite it being an interval session. Actually the interval session was really reassuring with pace coming easier than I expected. As with all the running at the moment there is a long way to go, but this was a nice start. Definitely something to build on.
Other than the run I did manage to get out for a decent swim. Longest swim since my surgery according to my GPS, which this time around I think was reasonably accurate. As I hoping after yesterday's swim today's swim was very relaxing. A few powerboats to dodge unfortunately, but that can be part of it some days. The Mako wetsuit is feeling good, starting to stretch a little bit now that is has a few swims into it. Certainly seems quick enough if today's swim is anything to go by.
Tomorrow it will be time for a return to reality with our time here at Guilderton coming to an end. As with all good holidays we are certainly ready to be heading home. We are all pretty tired out and ready for our own beds and our own house. Our few days up here have been a lot of fun and we have had a great time getting outside and having a play as a family, but the familiarity of home can be a good thing too and I think the family is about ready for it. Being up here can be a bit exhausting and we could do with getting home and having a couple of quiet days.
Still we aren't done here yet. In the morning I might try and get out for a swim before heading home but I will see how the day goes. I have swum for the last three days in a row, so if I don't get out swimming tomorrow I will not be crushed by it. I am keen to get perhaps get out on the bike when I get home, but that will depend a bit on the weather and just how easily the trip home goes.
Time to return to reality.
