As predicted

Yesterday I mentioned that it was forecast to rain today. Well it turns out that today has been one of those days where the forecast has turned out to be exactly correct. This was the radar image that greeted me this morning.

Not heavy rain, but rather a presistent drizzle. A drizzle that hasn't really let up all day.

Since the forecast had seemed pretty certain about the rain I woke up this morning with the expectation that I would be on the Kickr. As a result, waking up to this kind of radar image wasn't really that big a deal, just more of a confirmation.

All the same it took me a while to get on to the Kickr, once I was there it took an effort to stay on. I had a 60km ride on the program so I figured I would do a 2 hour spin on the trainer. As is often the case the first 50 minute went by okay, but that second hour was a bit of a grind. Still I got through intact. In fact the ride demonstrated that my fitness is continuing to improve with a better average heart rate for the effort exerted than I have had in previous sessions. The good signs continue.

Other than the Kickr session today has involved a lot of inside activities, generally staying dry whilst resisting the urge to plug the kids into the TV.

The weather looks like it will continue to improve tomorrow, which will make the run and swim that I have programmed very pleasant sessions indeed.
