Okay, so first things first. I know I didn't write a blog yesterday. Just one of those days in the end. One that starts getting busy at around 11:00am and doesn't really stop being busy until 11:00pm. It meant that I didn't quite have time to get to a computer. Doesn't happen to me very often, but it does happen.
I would like to say I was busy doing epic training, but alas that isn't the case. There has been some training over the last couple of days, and some of that has even included running, but I am still very much getting over this chest infection from last week.
Whilst I wasn't training, it isn't to say that I wasn't busy doing cool stuff. Sometimes you get involved in something will no real expectation of that thing, only to look back and realise that you are very glad you did. I had a moment like that at the first annual Break Your Limits Tri Club end of season awards lunch.
When BYL became a club and I joined, I didn't really give it much thought. I was already involved with BYL, so figured it would be a good club to be part of. However, sitting at lunch with 50 other people, celebrating the achievements of a club that has 80 members and an impressive list of accomplishments after just 12 months, it made me incredibly proud to be involved. Particularly hearing the founders talk about their modest expectations when the first created the club. It hit home that what these guys had done was pretty cool and made me very glad that I had decided to come along for the ride.
I am really looking forward to another fun 12 months with them.
