Training!!!

I did some exercise today. Woo Hoo.

I am am honest it didn't go all that well, but it happened, which is a big step forward.

The exercise was an hour of spinning on the trainer, so in itself not exactly earth shattering. The reason it didn't go well was because my chest was still fairly tight during the session. In fact mild asthma attack is the term I would use. I got off after 10 minutes to have a hit of my reliever which helped a bit, but it never went away entirely. So systems are obviously not quite back to full function yet. Steps in the right direction though.

The asthma meant that the session never felt particularly comfortable and also meant other aspects, such as heart rate, weren't happy either. But physically, the muscles etc, the session was fine. They obviously haven't stopped working or anything, so that is positive. Gives reassurance that things will eventually return to normal, just need to give it some time.

The enforced break does mean that the rest of me is feeling pretty good. Most of my niggles etc have calmed down. I am actually looking forward to getting out running again believe it or not. I have been driving to work longingly watching people running along the beachfront. Absence does make the heart grow stronger indeed.

Probably more of the same tomorrow I think. The current advice from Daryl is to hold back from real, true training until I can breath properly. Seems like a certain kind of common sense in that. I guess that is why he is the coach.
