Happy mothers day to all you mothers out there.
Today has been a good day. No training, but that was always the intention. The day has been good in the customary, normal good day type way, not in the athlete, skewed view of reality type way. We have had a lovely day of spending time together, catching up with the various mothers in our lives and just generally hanging out. It has been quite wonderful.
It might be the last one of these for a little while though. Tomorrow it is back into training with a ride in the morning and a run in the afternoon. Nothing to onerous to start with, a bit of a slow start to the week which is probably a good idea after the recovery week I have had.
I think I said this exact same thing after Putrajaya, but there comes a point when you know you are ready to get back into training. I was probably there a couple of days ago, but it is nice to give it a a little bit more time to make sure you really are ready to get going again. I am a bit tired right now because it is late (7:30pm) and it has been a long day, but generally I am good to get back to it. Japan awaits which is going to be an exciting thing. Always nice to be sitting at this point, ready to get on with the next challenge. Ready to get on with taking that next step in terms of progression.
One step at a time.
Sleep first though.
Before sleep I should say a massive congratulations to Steph Puszka and Ange Castle fellow Daryl Athletes who looked like they had awesome days up at the Vietnam 70.3 taking out 4th and 5th respectively in the FPRO. Very impressive performances on what looked like a very tough day out.
