Normalcy

It is a no training quiet sort of day today. Many may say that it is just the way a Monday should be.

Sleep in went very well. It is strange but a few years ago I wouldn't have thought that was an actual achievement. A couple of years with our son though and I now fully appreciate how good sleeping past 5am feels.

It is training free days like today that make me think about what life would be like without some form of exercise to distract me. For one I suspect I would get a lot more sleep. But on the flip side, without some type of training in my day, I am faced with the fact that the big events of my day have been:
  • going to the floor above at work to fill my drink bottle, since the kitchen on our level is being refurbished; and
  • the fact that the fridge frosted up a bit and froze some of my bread.
I am not sure a life full of moments such as those would be for me.

Still it is nice every now and then. Good for a holiday but I wouldn't want to live there.

Back to training tomorrow, with a ride in the morning and a run in the afternoon. Ride session poses no great concerns. The run doesn't really either. I am quite confident that my shin will be fine by then, given that it is more or less pain free right now.

Now if you will excuse me I think there is some drying paint that needs watching.
