Game on

This morning I had my first proper training session, done off a proper training program, for what feels like a long long time (about 3 weeks or so). It was a bit of a spin on the bike and it went well. It was only one session, but it went well enough that it gave me confidence that racing at Albany is a goer. I just booked some accommodation so I guess I am going one way or another.

The session was really just meant to be a spin on the bike, get the legs going, get back into it. It really hadn't been my intention to smash myself on the bike. Plus I am not sure I would say that I really did smash myself on the bike, I came off feeling pretty good. It probably would be fair to say that I went fairly hard though.

Still it was good to get out and feel like I could push. For the first time in what feels like weeks my chest wasn't tight, I didn't really feel like I had anything holding me back, so I didn't. I loved it.

Other good news is that my power meter seems to be well and truly sorted out. About a week ago I replaced a pedal pod and it was giving me some trouble. This morning's session reassured me that those issues seem to have been resolved.

Tomorrow morning is more of the same, another spin on the bike. I might take it back a notch though this time around, since I have my first run session in weeks on in the afternoon.

Feels great to finally be getting back into it.

I guess this means I should probably get the P5 out of the bike bag where it has been sitting since Phuket and put it back together.
