Finally home

Well I made it, I am home. Actually I have been home for nearly 24 hours now, having arrived at midnight yesterday, but I have only just got on to the computer.

My trip home from Jakarta was long, but reasonably uneventful. I was a bit nervous about having to transfer from the domestic terminal to the international terminal in Bali, since a late flight or an extra long wait in immigration could spelt disaster. But as it was everything went according to plan (other than me losing my boarding pass and having to get another one) and I arrived home in Perth tired, but extremely happy to be home.

I got a little bit of training in before leaving Jakarta yesterday morning, making my way onto the treadmill once again. Once again running was not pain free, but I am now feeling more confident that it is improving. Before I started on the treadmill I was fairly certain the groin was going to be painful, but once I got going it felt surprisingly good. So that was good.

I haven't done any training today, but then I never intended too. I have been away from home and my family for nearly two weeks and so I was never going to head straight back out again the next day and leave them for a few hours. Not going to happen.

Having said that, I am planning on getting a run in tomorrow morning. Hopefully the improvements I have been having will continue. I am particularly looking forward to getting out and running on an actual road, rather than a treadmill. Movement, hooray!!!!

Now that I am home I should have a fairly clear run until Mandurah and I am really looking forward to it. I am hoping that my injury is on the improve and that I might be running properly again soonish. Other than that, I am really looking forward to being able to train with out the thought of an imminent trip or something similar hanging over my head.

Time to get on with the rest of my season.

I can't wait.
