Worst day

It has been one of those days in one of those weeks, where you just wish you could go back to last Monday and start again. On a personal front there have been several minor annoyances today, but from a training perspective the biggest frustration is that I broke one of my Garmin Vector pods today.

I was putting it on the TT bike and I snapped it. I am still not particularly sure what I did wrong. I have read a fair bit of stuff about installing them and so I had the washers in place. I have been running around like mad for the last two days tracking down a suitable torque wrench, so I don't think I over tightened them. I am sure there must be a reason that they broke, I think it is unlikely that it just happened. But I am a bit stumped as to what that reason is.

What ever the reason, it is pretty.... annoying.
On the bright side, a quick call to Churchill cycles means that a replacement part may be available as early as next week, which would be great. Fingers crossed I will still be on track to use them for the Albany Half Ironman.

Now onto some happier thoughts. I am feeling a lot better today. Well enough to train this morning. I was on the bike for a couple of hours and it felt really pretty good. It was a windy morning, but that didn't seem too be to much of a factor. I think I might have dodged a bullet on the cold side of things a bit.

My hamstring is still a bit stiff. It is certainly improving, but probably not enough that I would feel comfortable running on it right now. Riding this morning was not too much of an aggravation, but I think running would probably be pushing my luck.

I was all set to do a TT in the morning to try and establish some power zones. Not a lot of point trying to do that now. Instead I have been instructed by my coach to have a relaxing day spoiling my family, so I will give that a go instead. Hopefully whatever is wrong with the Universe will sort it self out overnight and things will return to normal a little bit in time for a fresh week on Monday.
